Walvoil Load-Sensing and Full Flow Sharing directional control valves meet all requirements, from the simplest to the most advanced, across all application sectors. The Flow Sharing technology developed by Walvoil enables flow compensation in each section, allowing the valve to supply the correct flow according to the operator’s demand under any load condition. It also enables simultaneous operation of multiple functions with predictable flow distribution, including the possibility of prioritising a predefined working section.

The DPC Series is a family of pre-compensated sectional directional control valves for open/closed centre circuits, specifically designed for mobile machinery applications. The DPC Series ensures outstanding control, efficiency and flexibility for applications with flow rates up to 240 l/min. The range includes two valve sizes: DPC130 (DPC130X) and DPC200.

The Load-Sensing principle, when combined with appropriately designed pumps and valves, represents the most complete way to achieve a flexible hydraulic circuit adaptable to varying operating conditions. Its main feature is delivering flow to the actuator proportional to spool position under any operating condition, regardless of load pressure and number of simultaneously operated functions (limited only by pump saturation). With LS systems, a precise correlation between lever position and actuator speed is achieved. This is particularly valuable in mobile machinery such as excavators, cranes, loaders, and agricultural and forestry equipment, where operations follow defined sequences and require accurate, repeatable control by the operator.

Benefits and options
• Energy savings
• Increased component lifespan
• Reduced energy dissipation
• Lower noise levels
• Possibility to design the circuit using a single pump instead of multiple pumps dedicated to simultaneous actuators
These energy benefits are maximised when DPC directional valves operate in combination with variable displacement Load-Sensing pumps. With fixed displacement pumps, system performance depends on the specific configuration.

The DPX family includes Load-Sensing directional control valves in different sizes, ranging from the compact DPX050 up to the DPX160 for medium-to-high flow applications.

The DPX100, the central model in the range, is available in several configurations, including high-pressure execution, high-flow execution, and Low Leak spool options with reduced internal leakage. The wide range of configurations, customised spools, and extensive proportional control options are key factors behind the success of these valves.

A typical application example is the TELEHANDLER, where the DPX100 manages up to 120 l/min on working sections and provides:
• Integrated steering control (LS priority valve)
• High-pressure work sections (lifting and tilting)
• LS damping system

This new generation of Walvoil Load-Sensing Flow Sharing directional control valves offers:
– Precise machine control
– High flexibility in assembly options thanks to a modular design and multiple configurations

Flow Sharing solutions also represent a reliable strategy to ensure an optimal operator experience and to significantly improve energy efficiency, which is increasingly critical in modern mobile machinery.

FAQ

How does the Load-Sensing system work?

The Load-Sensing system regulates oil pressure and flow according to the actual load demand, optimising energy consumption and improving the efficiency of the hydraulic circuit.

How do variable displacement pumps work?

Variable displacement pumps automatically adjust the amount of oil delivered based on system requirements, reducing energy waste and adapting to changes in load and pressure conditions.
